Delhi university MA English Eligibility Criteria:
The DU has set up admission eligibility criteria for MA English course on the basis of direct admission as well as admission through entrance test. The university has setup different eligibility criteria for both of these modes of admission which has been mentioned below:
Category I : Direct Admission i.e. Without Entrance Test:
- The candidates should be B.A. (Hons.) in English from University of Delhi and they should be having 60% & above marks for General Category, 54% & above for OBC,SC/ST/PwD/CW.
Category II : Admission Through Entrance Test:
- The candidate should be B.A. (Hons.) in English from University of Delhi with 45% & above marks.
- The candidates having Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University with 50% & above in the aggregate can apply for admission through entrance test.
- 40% & above marks in the entrance test conducted by the Department for General Category candidates & 36% & above for OBC candidates and 35% & above for PwD/CW candidates. There are no minimum marks in the entrance test for SC/ST candidates.

Delhi University MA English Syllabus:
There are total of 16 subjects in the syllabus which has to be taught by university over a period of two years which included four semesters. There are 14 subjects which has to be study within the English Department whereas the remaining 2 subjects has to be chosen from several courses offered by other Humanities or Social Sciences departments of the University. Out of 14 literature courses, 10 are compulsory and 4 are optional. These 4 optional courses has to be chosen from the pool of 10 courses.
