The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to Bachelor Degree Programme (BDP)- Bachelor of Arts (BA) to the students from all over the country. The students can decide to pursue BA(General) or BA(Major).
The students have the option to pursue BA(Major) in the following streams: English, Public Administration, Urdu, Hindi, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology and Philosophy.

The university provides the Ignou BA study material to the students at their physical communication address via Registered post / Speed Post. The university print all the BA syllabus in the form of study blocks.
While filling up the admission form, the applicant should make sure that he or she fills the correct address for correspondence where you would like to receive your study material and all other information from the university.

Sometimes, the students do not receive their BA study material at their physical communication address due to various reasons. They don’t need to worry about it as they can collect their Ignou BA books from their respected study centres.
The soft copy of the study blocks is also uploaded by university online for the student’s convenience in case if they do not receive their study material. In the case of non-receipt of study material, the students should write to the Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre at their city where they stand enrolled/ admitted.
The programme code for the Bachelor Degree in Arts is BA. The minimum duration to complete all the IGNOU Arts bachelor degree courses is three years and the maximum duration is six years.
