Ignou Study Centre change application form – The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to the students in distance education mode to its various programmes which comes under the following categories: Bachelor Degree, Master Degree (Post Graduate), Diploma and Certificate/ The admission is offered in January and July academic session for most of the programmes. There are few exceptional programmes to which admission is provided only once in a year.
During the admission process, sometimes students may commit a mistake of writing wrong communication address. As they are new to IGNOU, so it takes a while to understand them that which study centre they have to choose or which is the nearest to them. So, they write the study centre in the admission form which is not suitable for them. In another case, it may be possible that some students wants to change their address and study centre as they have moved to different location.

To provide solution for all these problems, the Indira Gandhi National Open University provides an option for students to change or make correction in their address and study centre by submitting an application form at their regional centre. The students can find the IGNOU Change/ Correction of Address and Study Centre application form in the programme guide provided to them or they can also download it from the University official website at www.ignou.ac.in.
In case, if the students finds any change or correction in their address, they are advised to make use of the application proforma provided by university in the Student prospectus or Programme Guide. The students need to fill up the application form and send it to their concerned Regional Director.
The Regional Director will make all the require changes in the database and he will be responsible for all the necessary corrections. After making required changes in the database, he will forward the corrected data to Registrar, Student Registration Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068.
It should be noted that if any student make request directly to SRD, New Delhi, or any other Office of the University, his or her application will not be entertained.Normally, the university takes almost 4 to 6 weeks to make the required changes in the address. In the mean time, the students are advised to make their own arrangements to redirect the mail to the changed address during this period.
In case of change of Study Centre, the students can submit their application form to their regional Centre concerned. It should be noted that the request for change of study centre will be accepted only if there are sufficient number of seats available for the programme at the new centre asked for.
Also, the Change of Address and Study Centre is permissible only after the admission is finalized. The change of Study Centre is not allowed in case of programmes which involves the practical courses.
