It is an interactive voice response system. You can easily get your policy status by simply dialing 1251 from your MTNL or MSNL number. No registration is required for this process only you should be knowing your policy number. Users other than BSNL or MTNL can call by simply dialing the city STD code of IVRS center followed by 1251. By calling this number you can enquire about policy status, loan availability, bonus accumulated and detail about other policies. LIC Policy Status checking without registration through SMS:

To check your status via SMS you just need to send a SMS from your mobile but for this policy number has to be registered. SMS shall include some predefined codes specific for the enquiry as:

• PREM (Premium): to check premium due for the policy
• REV (Revival): If a policy already lapsed, then to check the revival amount payable.
• BONUS: Amount of bonus accumulated as of today.
• LOAN: Amount of loan you can avail from your policy.
• NOM (Nomination): To know the details of a nomination.

To know your policy status online for registered user you just need to follow these simple steps:

1. Log In to www.licindia.in.
2. Click on “Online Services”.
3. You will then be directed to a new page which is having “Registered User” option. Clicking on this option you will again be navigated to another page.
4. You will then be asked to enter LIC policy status Login Id and password of your LIC account. Entering the correct details, simply click on “GO” option.
5. Again you will see a new page with many options, out of them click on “View Enrolled Policies”.
6. This click will open a fresh page on your screen and will let you enter the password which will be displayed on the same page beside the empty text box.Click Submit button at the end.
7. Now your policy number will be visible to you on a new page and all you have to do is to click on your policy number.
8. This final click will display the desired policy status information asked by you.

LIC Policy Status Online for New Users:

New User has to first register himself on LIC official website to check the status online. Below are the steps to be followed:

1. Log in to www.licindia.com.
2. Now click on “New User”.
3. New User will be asked to provide information as: Policy Number, Premium amount, Date of Birth and Email Id.
4. After entering the details correctly you have to click on “Proceed”. You will now be directed to a page where you have to register yourself and create a user name and password for your account.
5. After successfully registering yourself on website, Life Insurance of India will mail you the LIC login details so that you can check your LIC policy status Online.
6. Now a list of options will be visible on left side of your screen, choose “View Enrolled policies” among them.
7. Now you have to enter your policy number on the page displayed and by clicking on your policy number your policy status will be displayed on your screen.
